Come ye Painters

Well, the house is finally (mostly) ready to paint! Saturday I had a good talk with the texture guy, and he came Monday and got a decent amount of the work done. We stopped by during lunchtime Monday (to pick up the wood floor sample we left there) and Joe had to have another talk with him because he was texturing over an area he hadn't sanded (so our wall was looking extremely wavy). It seems hard to communicate "We want you to do your job right, not speed through it, but we also want it done."

Sunday Joe sanded a bunch of mud on the walls (and did a GREAT job) while I cleaned and then primed another bedroom. It took a long time (we're talking hours) to clean off all the walls and trim, remove nails and staples, and fill nail holes. So it was only the last hour we were there that I started actually painting, but it went pretty fast and I only have to finish some along the top and cut in along the edges. Pictures are coming (as soon as I download them)!

We mostly took last night (Monday) off - we each had other things we'd committed to doing. It was slightly restful, at least for our muscles!

It seems like we've figured out a lot of wall colors, but it turns out we've got a lot of walls. Maybe I'll share some colors soon... but it's time to go prime walls for me!

Give me a call if you're in town and would like to help any night the next three evenings!
